Sail Rock, still green.... but AMAZING!!

Sail Rock still has a surface layer of green algae, which is quite common during, and soon after the monsoon season. When the water beneath this layer is clear, the effect can be an amazing green hue all around, particularly when the sun is shining.

Another great day at Sail Rock...

Another great day at Sail Rock, Koh Phangan, diving with long-time friend, Elliot Newberry (who graciously offered to pay to take me on the boat...).

Visibility wasn't fantastic (around 10m or so) but as usual, Sail Rock was teeming with marine life.

Fantastic Day at Sail Rock

Well, the long wait to get back to Sail Rock was well worth it....

Lots of amazing thermoclines and thousands of fish, especially the huge schools of Batfish and Barracuda.

Visibility ranged from 10 - 20m on both dives, and it didn't rain all day!!

Even after a long break, it's never too late to rediscover SCUBA...

Congratulations to Stefan and Kati Zettler from Germany who together with Carlos Frederico Brandt from Brazil, proved the analogy that "learning to dive is like learning to ride a bicycle" ie. once you've learned how to do it, you never really forget.
