Tag: Dragon Goby (Amblygobius Phalaena)

This goby took me quite some time to identify, mainly due to its variations from juvenile to adult, light to dark.

There are a couple of similar species, but i'm pretty certain this is the correct identification.

Dragon Goby (Amblygobius Phalaena) - Dark Variation

This is the darkest variation of the Dragon Goby (Amblygobius Phalaena) on which the vertical bands along the body are almost invisible.

The darker one was the first variation i photographed, but it was only after i identified the lighter variation months later that i discovered these were both the same species.
