The Pale Dartfish (Ptereleotris Microlepis) is a very difficult member of the Goby family to photograph due to its shape, pale colour and shy nature.

These Gobies can often be seen collecting food a meter or so above a sandy bottom, although they disappear very quickly into burrows when approached.

Finally, i've been managing to get some better photos of Pale Dartfish (Ptereleotris Microlepis), particularly when the conditions are favourable at Mae Haad/Koh Ma, Koh Phangan.

The group in this photo consisted of around 10 - 15 individuals and they were surprisingly easy to get close enough to for a decent photo.

This is a better photo of a Pale Dartfish (Ptereleotris Microlepis) taken at Chaloklum Bay.

The Pale Dartfish (Ptereleotris microlepis) is a shy and difficult species to photograph, even more so because of its very narrow body.
