Although one of the most common Shrimpgobies in the local area, it took me a long time to finally settle on which species this was (i initially thought it was a variation of the Flagtail Shrimp Goby (Amblyeleotris Yanoi).

I've since come to the conclusion that it is almost certainly, Steinitz' Shrimp Goby (Amblyeleotris Steinitzi).

One of the most common "shrimp gobies" in the area, particularly around the shallower Koh Tao sites, is the Steinitz' Shrimp Goby (Amblyeleotris steinitzi).
