Big-Eye Trevallies (Caranx Sexfasciatus)

During the daytime, huge schools of similarly sized Big-Eye Trevallies (Caranx Sexfasciatus) can often be found encircling the deeper offshore pinnacles such as Sail Rock.

Closer to the main pinnacle, there tends to be smaller groups of sub-adults such as the group in this photo.

Ox-Eye Scad (Selar Boops)

The resident shoal of Ox-Eye Scad (Selar Boops) at Mae Haad/Koh Ma reef, at the north of Koh Phangan.

This large shoal can be found on most dives at the north end of the reef and along the south side of Koh Ma island.
The seem to prefer this location and rarely stray far from here.
